I live in D10 Tianfu on Dongda Street in Chengdu. Recently, it seems that a lot of foreign bloggers have suddenly emerged near my home. They are walking around with their phones and taking pictures everywhere every day.
After browsing their videos, I’ve summarized 10 must-visit spots in Chengdu for foreigners, all within a 3-kilometer radius of my home. They are convenient to reach by transportation, offer a wide range of dining, entertainment, and leisure options 🍜. Hurry up and take notes!
✅ Scenic Areas:
Wenshu Monastery: It’s a must-visit spot 📷 for almost all foreign bloggers. Founded in the Sui Dynasty, it enshrines a piece of Buddha’s bone sarira and also a piece of the top bone sarira of Master Xuanzang. Both are precious holy objects.

Daci Temple: A temple where Master Xuanzang once practiced. It’s right next to Taikoo Li, a peaceful place amidst the hustle and bustle. It’s a great place to have a cup of tea 🍵 and take a rest when you’re tired from shopping in Taikoo Li.

People’s Park: Going to People’s Park to have tea, get an ear cleaning, and dance in the square dance 🕺🏻 and sing at the outdoor karaoke with uncles and aunts has become an internationally recognized formula for getting views.

339 TV Tower 🗼: A landmark building in Chengdu. On a clear day, you can take the elevator up to enjoy the panoramic view of Chengdu. It’s not recommended to go up on a cloudy day because it’s foggy and you can’t see anything.

✅ Commercial Districts:
IFS ~ Taikoo Li: A gathering place for trendsetters and a battlefield for major luxury brands. I used to go to Taikoo Li as a loafer wearing big loose shorts after dinner. Since there have been more and more people shooting vlogs, now I walk in a trendy and cool citywalk style with an oily hairstyle and a suit [sigh].

Chunxi Road: Although Chunxi Road is not as popular as it used to be, as a business card of old Chengdu, it’s still worth a visit.

Dongjiao Memory: Formerly the state-owned Hongguang Electron Tube Factory in Chengdu, it has now been transformed into a cultural and creative park integrating elements such as art, drama, and retro industrial style. It’s a 100% photogenic retro industrial-style shooting spot with a movie-like texture!

✅ Snack Streets:
Wangping Street: The second most popular street for street photography after Taikoo Li, a gathering place for night owls. On one side is a riverside tea-drinking area and a riverside market, and on the other side are trendy internet-famous stores full of personality.

Jianshe Lane: Next to the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, it’s a well-known 👻 food gathering place in Chengdu. There are many nationally renowned snacks here. For example, roasted pig’s trotters, chicken wing stuffed rice, etc. all originated from here. It mainly offers snacks, and you don’t need to make any special plans. It’s basically hard to go wrong.

Niushikou: Right downstairs from my home, it’s a food paradise known only to local foodies in Chengdu. Although many small restaurants here look unremarkable, they are all old stores that have been in business for decades. I don’t know how these foreigners managed to find this place…
